Uncaring Cowboy Builders
Have you ever been take for a ride with a cowboy builder? Have you ever experienced the trauma of having your property vandalised by a so called Cowboy Builder? If the answer is no – not yet, being very careful and keeping a watchful eye out for Tonto is a very good idea – be on your guard! Economically speaking and because of the downturn in available work, anybody, and everybody is now wielding a bucket and spade and screwdriver touting for work. This work would normally be found in newspaper advertising and are in the main genuine builders who place the ads, but we are not talking here about genuine builders – no sir. Do It Yourself (DIY) merchants have never had it so good. Building materials of every shape and size are flying from off the shelves. And here is the rub! Doing it yourself is perfectly okay just as long as you are satisfied with the finished article, what ever it might be, but when it comes to something like re-wiring and plumbing, bedroom – kitchen extensions, then that is a whole different ball game! You will need to contact an expert, have the necessary plans drawn, make application for permits – in short, get yourself an expert and one who can show you genuine approval
Letters of recommendation – it will pay in the long run. What about the Cowboy Builder? Well, he must be avoided at all costs if you are to value your safety and piece of mind. Cheap and cheerful might be tempting.
Be warned it pays to get the right job done by a right job expert. Uncle Harry might be good at collecting groceries, but that's about it……
